যমুনা তোর জল দেখি , জল কই - জল খন্ডহর
কালো, অতীব সুক্ষ কালোর ভিতর
ঘাট থেকে ফিরে এসে বেজে ওঠে কলসীর শূন্যতা
কই দেখি তোর গোপন,
পরকীয়া স্পৃহা
ক্রমাগত ফেনা আর বুদবুদের সুরসঙ্গম
আঁখি ছলোছলো ললিতা, বিশখা
কালিন্দিকুঞ্জের ঘাটে অধীর , উদ্গ্রীব, ছায়ানট
যমুনা দেখেন এই প্রেম আর পরিক্রমা নিয়ে
যত না কালিমা হলো,
তার চেয়ে অধিক কলঙ্ক নিয়ে
তাকে আজ ধুয়ে দিতে হবে পারিষদের পা
সম্রাট আসেন । সম্রাজ্ঞী আসেন । পূজা আসে । বিসর্জনে যায় ।
যমুনা ভাবেন এই বয়ে চলা আর ক্লান্তির কোন সম্পর্ক আছে কিনা
এত সালফার - এত শীশা নিয়ে
এই নুড়ি, পাথর, কংকড় নিয়ে
স্রোত কৈ ? এই যদি স্রোত হয়,
আমি তবে আজ স্রোতের উল্টো দিকে হাঁটি ।

Yamuna, I see your water, where is the water?
Black, very subtle inside black
Coming back from the pier, the void of the pitcher rings.
Where do I see your secrecy,
Alien obsession
Constant foam and bubbles
Lalita, Bishkha
Vibrant, anxious, wild at Kalindikunj Ghat
Jamuna looks at her love and parikrama
As long as it's black, really blemish black
With more stigma than that Sardar has come to the Ghat
She has to wash his feet today.
The emperor comes.
The devi comes.
Worship comes.
Ultimately goes to immersion.
Jamuna wonders
if there is a connection between this flow and fatigue
So much sulfur - with so much of lead & mercury
With these millions of gravel, stone, pebble
Where is the current? If this is the current,
I would flow in opposite of the stream today.

সেই তো বয়ে চলা দিকবিদিক
স্থিরতা থাকে না কোন জলের
যমুনারও সেই জল নিয়ে সংসার
এইভাবেও থেকে যাওয়া যায় এককজননী
একসঙ্গে সাধ্বী নারী
নিজস্ব দায়ে, নিজস্ব বোধে
যমুনা ভাবেন - যুগের চাহিদা হলো এই,
জোগান এই
এইসমস্তই তার যাত্রা পথের পাথেয়
যমুনা টের পান, তার কোন দিক নীচু আর
কোন দিকে গড়িয়ে যাবে জল
যার কোন উত্তর থাকে না
এইভাবে দক্ষিনও থাকে না
শুধু নরম মাটির কাছে - যমুনা কমনীয় হয়ে আসে
তার বোধে ওঠে এক তরঙ্গ
তার শরীরে খেলে যায় এক আশ্চার্য রাগমোচন
ক্রমে ক্রমে যমুনা এক নদী হয়ে ওঠেন

That is what the direction that flows.
There is no stability in any stream.
Yamuna also has a family with that water
In this way, one can remain single-minded.
Devine women all-together
On its own, in its own sense.
Jamuna thinks - this is the need of the age,
The outcome of all,
All of this is on her ways to flow.
Jamuna realizes which pier of her is low and
Where will the water flow?
Or the pier really high to stop
To which there is no answer.
That's not how the South is, nor there is a north
Where you want to be close soft soil
The Yamuna becomes sentimental
There was a wave in her senses.
A strange rage played in her body & soul
Gradually, the Yamuna attains a maturity of a river.

দিল্লিকে আমি ধুয়েছি, দিয়েছি পবিত্রতা
ভাবেন যমুনা
দিল্লির সাম্রাজ্য যতই না তাকে কল্যুষিত করেছে
ততই সে জবাব দিয়ে তার স্রোত ধারা দিয়ে
তার বয়ে যাওয়া এক আবহমান
সাম্রাজ্যবাদীরা তা জানেন
যমুনা পাতা উলটে পড়েন সেই ইতিহাস
তার চোখ আদ্র হয়ে আসে,
রাত্রির নক্ষত্রদের সঙ্গে জেগে দেখেন লালকিলার খয়ে যাওয়া
জলবক্ষে বয়ে যাওয়া শ্বেতপাথরের আলো
তার প্রবাহ এমন এক অলিখিত কিতাব
প্রতিপদে যেভাবে মুছে গিয়েছে শ্রমিকের ঘাম
আর অক্ষরে অক্ষরে প্রস্তরীভূত হয়েছেন সম্রাট শাহজাহান
আর ভাবেন না যমুনা
যার ঘাম নেই, ঘুম নেই, জিরানো নেই,
তার এই সুদীর্ঘকাল - শত সাম্রাজ্যের ভগ্নাংশের পরে
যমুনা একটু পরিপক্ক হয়ে দার্শনিক হয়ে ওঠেন
তার মনে গুঞ্জন
একটু একটু করে বেঁচে থাকাই কবিতা

I have washed the feet of Delhi,
I have given purity.
Think Yamuna
Whenever empires of Delhi tried to malign her with the shits
That's when she responded with her stream.
She ignored them with her breeze flow
The imperialists know that.
Yamuna reads the history upside down.
Her eyes were moist,
She watch stars of the night and see the decaying of LalQuila
The light of the white stone flowing into the waterfront
Her fatigue is such an unwritten book.
How the sweat of the worker has been vanished over the year
The way emperor Shah Jahan has literally became obsolete on her bank.
Yamuna, cant' think anymore
One who has no sweat, no sleep, no rest,
Her long reign
After the ruin of hundreds of empires
Jamuna a bit matured becomes a philosopher
Murmurs in her mind
Poetry is about living a little bit.
